During 2007-08, club presidents elect (i.e. those who will take office as club presidents in 2008-09) are being offered the opportunity of some informal training and discussion sessions in four areas of Rotary. These sessions resulted from responses by the presidents elect to a recent survey of perceived needs. District Trainer, PDG Brian Foley is putting together four sessions as follows:
Friday 17 August 2007 - SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES AND ACTIVITIES
Friday 14 September 2007 - PROCEDURES AND PROTOCOL
Friday 19 October 2007 - CLUB LEADERSHIP AND ADMINISTRATION WITH REFERENCE TO THE NEW CLUB LEADERSHIP PLAN
Friday 16 November 2007 - MEETING PROCEDURES BOTH CLUB AND BOARD
The sessions are held at the SCOPE Centre, 750 Boronia Road, Wantirna (Melways Map Ref 63 F5). The sessions start at 7.30pm and aim to finish by 9.30pm and include Tea/Coffee/Biscuits.
While attendance is not compulsory, the sessions provide a source of useful information for incoming presidents prior to the more structured training sessions to be held at the Presidents Elect Training Seminar and District Assembly in the first half of 2008.
