Message from District Governor John Barnes and Gaye
“Our Rotary Friends,
Gaye and I are looking forward to welcoming you all to Hobart in March 2009. Our venue, the Grand Chancellor Hotel is an outstanding facility in a very picturesque location on the banks of the Derwent River with Mt Wellington in the background. The Conference Committee are working hard to guarantee you an interesting and varied program and lots of fun.
Our theme is “Take Your Passion….. for the programs of Rotary to Hobart …..and we will Make It Happen.” Meet up with Rotary friends, make some new ones, be enlightened and enthused by the programs of Rotary and sit back in the Grand Chancellor’s magnificent concert hall and hear passionate and enthusiastic speakers.
Our theme for the Saturday Night Gala Dinner is “Hollywood Comes to Hobart”. Feel free to dress up as one of the winners of an Academy Award or dress to impress as if going to the Oscars but keep in mind that seating in the concert hall maybe a little confined so please dress accordingly. All those in attendance at our Gala Dinner have an opportunity to win 6 nights accommodation and return air fares to Fiji for two people. To be eligible to win this fantastic prize you have to be in the room at the time of the draw.
As we move around the Clubs in the District, Gaye and I are overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and level of support. We are looking forward to our Conference with eager anticipation and invite you all to consider joining us in Hobart for what promises to be an outstanding event.
Regards
DISTRICT GOVERNOR JOHN and GAYE”
