Some pointers to assist the collection and sorting process:

  • PLEASE leave the stamps on the envelopes - this enables faster sorting, also the required margin around the stamp is critical for selling purposes.
  • Foreign stamps, and Australian stamps 70c and above, fetch around $28.00 per kg.
  • If the above groups can be kept separate from the ordinary 50c stamps it would be of enormous help.
  • Australian 50c stamps fetch about $3.00 per kilo - on a single thickness of paper
  • If your Club would like to donate an evening to "Stamp Snipping & Sorting" please let PP Carrol Farmer know and she would be delighted to bring work for everyone - and give you an insight into this recycling for dollars project. Help is needed in this department and a great deal could be accomplished in an hour.
  • If you are going overseas to stay with friends - why not ask them to start saving stamps now - you could return with some valuable contributions to an excellent cause. Pen friends, Exchange Students, Group Study Exchange personel could all be encouraged to assist.
